Vishwesh Bhatt obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from the University of Mumbai, India, and subsequently pursued his Master's degree in Molecular Cell Biology at the University of Bonn. During his master's thesis, he performed functional assays to investigate the role of regulatory T cells in Bardet-Biedl Syndrome in visceral adipose tissue. In parallel, he worked as a research assistant within FOR5547, contributing to the development of an optogenetic tool for cilium disassembly.
For his doctoral research, he will explore immunometabolism in Bardet-Biedl Syndrome using translational approaches involving human samples and mouse models. His research will focus on immune phenotyping and functional analyses to better understand the interplay between primary cilia associated pathways, metabolism, and immune function.
