Seniz Yüksel obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara. She then continued her studies with a Master’s program in Immunobiology at the University of Bonn, where she conducted her Master’s thesis research in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Elvira Mass at the LIMES Institute. During her studies, she also gained research experience in cancer biology at RWTH Aachen University.
She completed her PhD in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Dagmar Wachten at the Medical Faculty of the University of Bonn, where she investigated the role of primary cilia in adipose tissue biology. Her doctoral research was part of the DFG Research Unit FOR5547 “Primary Cilia Dynamics,” which aims to uncover how ciliary dynamics regulate tissue organization and function. She continues to work on this research project, further investigating the role of primary cilia in adipose tissue biology.
