Rita earned her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Laboratory Science in Ghana in 2017 and worked as a biomedical scientist at the Kumasi centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR), Kumasi, Ghana until 2023. She is currently pursuing a MSc degree in Biomedical Science at Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences.
In September 2024, she joined the McManus Lab for a six-week internship and has now returned to conduct her master's thesis research project. Throughout her time in the lab, she aims to build competencies in neuroimmunology, studying microglial metabolic signalling and the influence on cell function.
