Bio Summary:

Pujan began his studies in Biology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University Bonn in 2014, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in 2018. During this time, he completed his thesis at the Institute for Medical Microbiology, Immunology, and Parasitology, focusing on finding novel immunological and serological approaches to diagnosing parasitic diseases. Continuing with a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Pujan graduated in 2021. His master’s thesis at the Institute for Experimental Haematology and Transfusion Medicine centered around understanding the molecular underpinnings of Factor VIII deficiency. In 2021 he started pursuing a Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen, where his research at the Department of Immunology focused on discovering novel targets in drug-induced senescence in liver cancer. After graduating in 2024, he joined the AG Schmidt for a Post-Doc and is currently investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying the functional regulation of NLRP1.
