Paula Martorell performed her studies in Biotechnology at the National University of Tucumán, Argentina. In 2017 she obtained a scholarship to conduct a Master in Neurosciences at the Sorbonne University in Paris. She was introduced to the field of Neuroimmunology during her internship at the laboratory of Experimental Therapeutics for Neurodegeneration, under the supervision of Dr. Rita Raisman-Vozari and Dr. Patrick Pierre Michel at the ICM Brain and Spine Institute, Pitié-Salpêtrière University Hospital. Since November 2018 she has joined the group lead by Prof. Dr. Michael Heneka at the University Hospital Bonn and the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases where she is conducting her doctoral studies on the involvement of the cGAS-STING immune pathway in neurodegenerative diseases.
