Lal Era completed her B.Sc. studies in Genetics and Bioengineering. She joined the Meissner lab as a rotation student and research assistant in October 2022. During her B.Sc. studies, she was involved in studies on Tissue Engineering, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Bioinformatics. She conducted her compulsory B.Sc. internship in the Biochemistry Department of the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Prof. Sir Tom L. Blundell. Her research project focused on "Structural Modelling of SARS-CoV-1 and SARS-CoV-2 Proteomes". In 2021, she moved to Germany for her M.Sc. education in Biochemistry at LIMES/RheinischeFriedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. Currently, she is conducting her M.Sc. thesis in the lab focusing on the deconvolution of the cGAS-STING pathway by applying DIA MS-based proteomics.
