Karolin completed her Bachelor's degree in Human Biology, specialising in neurobiology, in 2023 at the Philipps University Marburg, Germany. She then continued her education by enrolling in the Master's programme ‘Medical Immunosciences and Infection‘ at the University Bonn, with the goal of deepening her knowledge in the field of neuroimmunology. In 2025, Karolin joined Róisín's team as a lab rotation student and stayed on to work on her Master's thesis examining innate immune signalling in microglia.
