Bio Summary

Caro obtained her bachelor degree in molecular biomedicine in 2018 from theUniversity of Bonn working on the role of HGF/c-MET signaling for the regulation of the tumor microenvironment. She continued her studies in Bonn with the master program Immunobiology at the LIMES Institute. During that time she joined the Schmidt lab for her rotations and Master Thesis working on different projects including the generation and functional characterisation on nanobodies. In her final thesis she worked on new approaches for anti-viral nanobodies targeting poxviruses and SARS-CoV-2. After her thesis she joined the Nanobody Core Facility as a technician until she will continue with her PhD.

Hobbies

Besides labwork Caro loves sports - biking up the Venusberg in the morning is most of the times only the first session of the day. Furthermore she really enjoys baking which is the most appreciated hobby by the lab since the lab members are the lucky ones to enjoy the goodies.
