Angelika Griep completed her apprenticeship as a Biological Technical Assistant at the Institute of animal husbandry of the University of Bonn in 2004. After working at the Department of Plant Nutrition at the Institute of Economic Plant Science and Resource Protection for two years she then studied Neuroscience at the University of Cologne and completed her Bachelor of Science in 2009. She joined the Heneka group in 2009, where she has been working until today as a Technical Assistant.
Having worked in several laboratories she can draw on a wealth of experience conducting animal experiments including preparatory work, genotyping, breeding as well as the management of mouse colonies in a special database. She is well versed in diverse biochemical, histological and molecular biological methods as well as cell culture and transfection experiments. During her education she was able to gain experience with spermatology, embryo production and microbiology. She is experienced with important routines in the laboratory regarding development of protocols, documentation of results and product ordering systems.
