Bio Summary

Andreas joined the lab of Prof. Felix Meisser as data scientist in the last quarter of 2022, to support the teams’ effort to investigate cells’ inter and intra signalling to regulate inflammation. Prior, he completed his professional training as software developer in 2004 and received his undergraduate degree (Diplom-Ingenieur. FH) in Bioinformatics with focus on Software Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf in 2010. Andreas started his academic carrier as Ph.D. student in the team of Prof. Jochen Prehn at the Department of Physiology at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) where he continued to study cell death in cancer as Post-Doc after graduating in 2014. In his 13 years at RCSI he focused on modelling and studying BCL2-dependent apoptosis in colorectal cancer cells to predict cells’ and patients’ response to chemotherapy, and acquired a profound expertise in bioinformatics, data analysis and systems biology. In 2022, he received the title honorary lecturer for his contribution to supervise and teach and students at the college.
