Bio Summary

Nàdiahas a long-lasting interest in microglia and their role after acute injuries and chronic diseases in CNS. During her PhD in the “Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona”, she studied how inflammatory microenvironment impact in microglial phenotype after peripheral nerve injury. Since she started her postdoctoral research, she focused in the role of TREM2/CD33 regulating microglial response and amyloid phagocytosis in AD. Additionally, she is focused in microglia proliferation under the neuroinflammatory conditions found in AD. She is addressing how the environment modifies the phenotype and function of proliferating microglia and identifying the genetic signature expressed by these cells during the progression of AD.
